A weekend in Swansea

We knew we were going to be turfed out of the room by about 10am, so we decided to make the extra special effort and go for breakfast! With only a few hours kip and still wallowing in the reminiscents of Chicken Madras the fry up slipped down.

A pleasant stroll in the still, damp air to the top of Cmwdonkin Park was enough time for Andy (Fel) to drive over from Pontardawe. We met in the Uplands Tav for a cup of tea and to shoot some pool. Chris found the Internet Cafe we'd been looking for the previous day - just a couple of doors down from the Tav! Darren and Martin joined us to decide what we were going to do for lunch. Another bout of indecisive ponderings left us wondering whether we were going to eat at all; we had only an hour before our train was about to leave! Tottenham were playing at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, so we were trying to avoid the train that would arrive in Cardiff after the game.

Settled then; the Uplands Diner on the other side of the street! With only ten mins or so until the train, we decided "ahh, we'll get the next one!" Nice lunch and a couple of photos later and it was time to go our separate ways. Fel was giving Chris and myself a lift to the station - well he would have done if he hadn't left his lights on and drained the battery! Doh! Giving Simon a buzz, we were able to catch him before he got to the M4, so he kindly did a U-ee and came back to pick us up. Making a dash for the station, we left Fel waiting for the RAC. Missing the train by a few mins and then running out of bog paper in Burger King (Doh!!)... left us wondering what was going to happen next?!

The train we were going to be getting would be THE train for the football supporters at Cardiff! Doh! Since we were getting on at Swansea, we had no problem getting seats. The police had the situation well under control at Cardiff and although they allowed the train to fill up to the max, hardly any seats had been reserved and we had a very pleasant journey.

Tops - until next time.
